Accessory

INDICATOR
We have developed an accessory, an indicator, that enables you to do an excellent job for the smaller and sloping window slides and with a width less than 20mm. The indicator tilts with the movement of the tape dispenser. Coming in the corner the moment the indicator touches the window slide pull the trigger and the tape will be cut precisely and straight.

The indicator can:

  • Taken out by indicator by lifting it.
  • Fixated in the hole at the front of the tape dispenser.
  • Is interchangeable.
The movement with the indicator

At the start the indicator must be exactly positioned towards a window frame or at the point you would like to start applying tape.   Then during appliance …..   the tape dispenser need to be tilted.

In the next corner you stop when the indicator touches the window frame, the safety pin activates the trigger and by pulling,   the tape will be cut straight and exactly in the corner.

Safety

Legislation, Guidelines and Standards

QuiP taping is committed to the development of ergonomics and safety in the use of its products. The user should ensure that the tape dispenser is a cutting tool and is used correctly and that safe working procedures are developed and followed for all operations including those which use cutting tools. The guidelines given here are general in nature and cannot address in detail the many variations in applications and working conditions. In general QuiP taping advises that appropriate legislation, guidelines and standards should be followed at all times. This includes the necessity to identify and assess hazards and risks and implement adequate controls.

Hazard and Risk Assessment
All hazards and risks must be assessed and controlled adequately. The assessment and control of hazards and risks should be ensured by competent persons who are in a position to take into account all the factors involved. Some of the safeguards required in using cutting tools include:

  • Machine guarding to an approved standard
  • Eye protection should be provided and worn again to an approved standard.
  • Correct handling to avoid cuts and lacerations as a result of sharp edges.
  • Ensure that tools are properly grounded, and are not damaged.

In addition to the above, the use of cutting tools in portable appliances requires particular precautions, including:

  • Ensure the user is properly trained in the safe use of portable appliances with cutting tools.
  • Avoid exceeding the recommended limits of the appliance.
  • Ensure the appliance is well maintained.
  • Ensure tools are secure and correctly seated in the chuck before use.
  • Ensure electrical connections and supplies are adequately protected.
  • Apply good manual handling and ergonomic practice.

The blade of the tape dispenser is designed in a way that only when the QuiP tape dispenser is tilted completely (upper side pressed against the surface) a safety pin activates the trigger. The QuiP tape dispenser is a precision tool that requires careful operation.
